WZTV/WUXP in Nashville, TN is seeking an Assistant Chief Engineer.

The successful applicant will have an in depth knowledge of digital video information as used in a broadcast environment, as well as a complete understanding of automated news production, high power UHF Transmitters, broadcast equipment and microwave RF technology.

Responsibilities: 

• Managing engineering staff
• Overseeing equipment maintenance and systems design
• Applicant must have strong computer skills - capable of maintaining several computer networks including UNIX, Linux, Samba, Novell and Windows.
• Added plus if applicant has experience with Avid INews networks, non-linear editing and video servers, Ross Overdrive.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Technical Degree in electronics or related field
• At least (5) years experience in TV broadcast engineering
• Knowledgeable of FCC Broadcast rules
• Capable of occasionally working overnights and weekends
• Capable of lifting 30lbs
• Strong IT skills
• SBE certification is a plus, but not required
