Utah's #1 TV Station is seeking a RESEARCH/PROGRAMMING INTERN

Join our team at KUTV Ch. 2, Utah’s No. 1 station! KUTV and KMYU, Sinclair Broadcast Group (SBG) stations, want to help motivated college students prepare for the future.
Our program is designed to be a “hands-on” experience, with on-the-job training. Each student will be assigned an immediate supervisor to oversee their work. Our goal is to have students participating in our organization, to help them shape their career choices as well as assist our professional staff in delivering on the things that matter to our viewers and clients. Interns are not compensated other than course credit and the receipt of on-the-job training hours.
All students, especially Juniors and Seniors majoring in Business or Communications, are welcome to apply and will be considered. We will consider students from other related fields of study including: government , politics, education, social sciences.
DEPARTMENT: SALES
THIS IS NOT A NEWS INTERNSHIP. No resume tape prep or on-camera time is anticipated. Sales interns will acquire working knowledge of how a TV station schedule takes shape, how viewer numbers are determined, and how a sales department can create partnerships that benefit the station, its advertising sponsors and its viewers. Sales interns will help with client communication, sales promotional pieces, sales events and contests, etc., attending sales meetings and sales calls when appropriate. Finance and statistics majors also considered.
RESEARCH INTERN REQUIREMENTS:
- Very good MS Excel skills.
- Very good MS PowerPoint skills.
- Understanding of e-mail marketing, MS Word, web-based databases and queries.
- Attention to detail—proofreading text and tables.
- Fast worker.
- Available M-F mornings remotely and in-person at the station 2-5 afternoons per week.
- Agree to all SBG employment procedures and policies.
